75 years of loyalty to Kolping

At the beginning of the year, the Hünfeld Kolping Society presented a rare certificate: Fritz Karges, born on January 24, 1930, was honored for his 75 years of membership, which began on December 3, 1950. Just three years after joining the Kolping Society, he was elected Senior and remained active on the board for many years afterward.

 Fritz Karges remained loyal to his hometown of Hünfeld and the Kolping Society. At the end of the war, he began his apprenticeship as a locksmith, passed his journeyman's examination, and in 1960 earned his master craftsman's certificate with his then-employer, Wella. A year before his master craftsman's examination, Fritz Karges married his wife, Irmtraud. In 2024, they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary (Iron Wedding Anniversary) together with their family, which includes four children and their spouses, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Fritz Karges retired in 1993. In addition to his commitment to the Kolping Society, he was active in local politics, serving as a city councilor for 15 years from 1974 to 1989. The Hünfeld Kolping Society wishes Fritz and Irmtraud Karges continued health and a loving family life.
